In this competitive project-to-project world of funding,
there is an overwhelming need for a new collaborative
approach. Here is
what We Conserve offers:
|
Just
Starting |
Capacity Building:
an opportunity for organizations to apply
jointly for funding support to build the
organizational capacity to deliver conservation
solutions through issue-based hubs with lead
organizations.
|
|
Getting Going |
Collaborative Campaigns:
collaborative fundraising in support of
strategic campaigns to achieve measurable
results, either with respect to widespread
adoption of an individual conservation solution,
or an integrated community greening campaign.
|
|
Fully Deployed |
Movement Funding:
the best opportunity for growing the
environmental sector lies in the development of
a "united conservation appeal", to combine
issue-based leadership with community-oriented
delivery.
Movement funding is only possible when there is
the infrastructure in place to both raise and
distribute funds effectively. The quickest
way to establish this infrastructure is through
community conservation networks and issues hubs
(see How to Build a Movement).

Funding Matters
For more information of funding trends in
the not-for-profit sector, see Funding
Matters, a 2003 report from the Canadian Council on
Social Development. It documents the trend in funding
from mission-based core funding to short-term,
project-based funding and the resulting stress on the
voluntary sector.
