The Conservation Council is an association of provincial organizations and individuals who share a common interest in promoting conservation.  Each of our members seeks to incorporate the goal of a healthy environment into their own work and activities.  The Conservation Council provides the opportunity for these groups to work together as part of a provincial conservation movement.

Membership Applications

For Organizations, Businesses and Municipalities:  Membership is open to voluntary sector and professional organizations, businesses and municipalities that are active in Ontario that share our goal of a healthy environment and have demonstrated their commitment through their own actions and program.

Membership requests are reviewed by the Council's Board of Director's and then submitted to the full Council for approval.  A majority vote of the current members present at a meeting of the Council is required for an organization to be admitted as a member.

Each member organization is entitled to send a voting delegate to our meetings and to participate in the development of Council's program and policy.

There is no membership fee for non-governmental organizations, and a sliding fee for businesses and municipalities.

For Individuals: Individuals are generally elected at our annual meeting in October for a one year term (renewable indefinitely).  Applications for membership are reviewed by the Board of Directors and then submitted to the full Council for approval.  A majority vote of the members is required for an individual to be elected as a member.

Candidates for Individual Member should have a demonstrated commitment to our goal of a healthy environment, expertise in a field related to our work (including economic, or social), and be able to contribute time to relevant Council meetings and activities.

There is no fee for individual members, but you will be asked to make a charitable contribution and to contribute your time and expertise to our projects and activities.

Get Involved
You don't have to be a member to be involved.  In fact, the best way for you to get to know us (and for us to get to know you) is to participate in our meetings and to volunteer with the Council and/or our member organizations.
